We try to give more on this blog than ask--but there's something absolutely crucial on Capitol Hill right now that needs your strength. Utah's third in the nation for the rate of autism--one out of every 133 children will be diagnosed with this. Nationwide, it's a galactic one out of 150. You will know a child--or have a child--with autism in your lifetime, guaranteed.

Parents who are battling autism CAN recover a child--but treatments are expensive and not covered by insurance. It's crucial to let Majority Leader Reid (202.224.3121) and Speaker Pelosi (202.225.3121) know how important this is.

Here's a little script if it makes it easier:

"Hi, my name is ________. I am calling from (your city and state). I want you to know that health care reform that does not stop autism insurance coverage discrimination is unacceptable. People with autism deserve coverage for the treatments and therapies that will help their medical condition. Thank you."
